A Thanksgiving Like No Other and the One Action You Can Take to Make a Difference
I know this 2020 Thanksgiving in the US will be unusual for most people. You may be spending it differently than you usually do. This might mean you’re alone or missing many of those you love. This pandemic is robbing us of many of our traditions, normal ways of life, and people we love.
You can pine for your lost traditions, grieve those who have died, and be afraid for what may come. You’re human. Feel your feels. They’re legitimate. This is a hard time during a period of great suffering.
Many people feel the pain and suffering. There are people who feel compassion and get compassion fatigue; there are people who pick up the feelings of others; they’re called empaths. Then there are so many who are working so hard to take care of those who get sick. They are exhausted and bone-tired. I can’t imagine what they’re going through during this long stretch of Covid time.
This Thanksgiving, I invite you to rise above the harsh realities we see. I’m not asking for you to ignore the realities. Please don’t. I’m asking you to consider a spiritually-augmented view of our situation. If we are here to learn, what good can we get out of so much heartache, loss, and grief?
